While many other ski resort towns took on a European look during the bubble era and Winter Olympics of the 90s, Nozawa Onsen still has a traditional Japanese feel.

The town is packed with Ryokan and guest houses, as well as many free, and incredibly hot, hot springs. These are especially nice after a day on the slopes of the town's world famous ski slopes.

Nozawa-onsen is a popular hot-spring health resort.
In the village’s Onsen district there are thirteen atmospheric public bathhouses called Soto-yu.
Must enjoy walking around Soto-Yu.
